  1. Characterized optical properties of different musculoskeletal tissues 
  2. Developed custom-made 3D printed sample holders compatible with integrating sphere setup
  3. Simulated different fiber optics probe configurations to optimize probe design to improve signal detection from bone
  4. Fabricated fiber optics probe based on the simulations, and validated the simulation result ex-vivo
  5. Identified wavelengths to calculate absorption ratios to validate the improvement in signal detection from underlying layer
